Storing Medicines Safely at Home
Keeping medicines organised at home helps you take them correctly and safely. This guide covers the basics.
Key principles
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
- Keep out of reach and sight of children
- Never decant tablets from their original packaging unless using a labelled pill organiser
- Check expiry dates every few months
Fridge storage
Some medicines (like certain insulins and antibiotics) must be kept refrigerated between 2°C and 8°C. Check the leaflet.
Travel tips
