Medication Reminders that Actually Work

24-hour clock scheduling, push notifications, phone-calendar sync, and carer alerts when a dose is missed — all built into your medication passport.

The best medication reminder is one that fits your existing routine and doesn't let missed doses slip through the cracks. PillarMeds Pro turns your medicines into a seven-day schedule with reliable notifications, one-tap logging, and optional carer alerts.

What makes our reminders different

  • Exact 24-hour clock times

Pick precise times (08:00, 13:00, 22:30) when you add each medicine. No vague "morning" or "night".

  • Seven-day rolling schedule

Every medicine auto-populates the next seven days so you can see the week at a glance.

  • Push notifications that fire

Native Web Push works in the background on both Android and iOS after home-screen install.

  • Sync to your phone calendar

Subscribe from Apple Calendar, Google Calendar or Outlook via a secure feed URL.

  • Carer alerts for missed doses

Linked carers get an alert when a critical dose is missed so someone can check in.

Setting up reminders in three steps

  1. Add the medicine. Open My Medications and enter the name, dose and reason.
  2. Pick your times. Choose exact 24-hour slots or a frequency preset (once daily, twice daily, every 8 hours).
  3. Turn on notifications. Enable push in Settings and optionally subscribe from your phone calendar via the Schedule page.

Reminders for carers and families

If you look after a family member, invite them to link their passport to yours. You'll see their daily schedule and get notified if a critical dose is missed — without ever being able to change their medicines. Learn more about carer medication management.

Safety reminder: Reminders help you build a routine, but they are not medical advice. Do not change how you take a medication unless advised by a healthcare professional.

Frequently asked questions

How do medication reminders work in PillarMeds Pro?
Choose exact 24-hour clock times for each medicine when you add it. PillarMeds Pro turns those times into a seven-day schedule with push notifications, and lets you tick doses off in one tap. Missed doses can automatically alert a linked carer.
Do medication reminders work when the app is closed?
Yes. PillarMeds Pro uses Web Push notifications, so alerts arrive even when the app is in the background or closed — on both Android and iOS (once installed to your home screen).
Can I sync my medication reminders to Apple Calendar, Google Calendar or Outlook?
Yes. Every account gets a secure calendar feed URL you can subscribe to on iPhone, Android, Mac or Windows. Doses appear as calendar events alongside everything else in your day.
What happens if I miss a dose?
The dose is logged as missed in your medication history. If you have invited a carer with notification permission, they receive a push and email alert so they can check in.
Are reminders safe to rely on for critical medicines?
Reminders are a helpful safety net, but critical medicines should always be discussed with your prescriber or pharmacist. Do not change how you take a medication unless advised by a qualified healthcare professional.
Is there a free medication reminder plan?
Yes — you can create an account, add medicines and enable reminders during a free 14-day trial. Continued use of the full passport, carer access and PDF summaries is £5.99/month or £49.99/year. A free tier with basic reminders is also available.
